17" Traction Tire Options

1 Attachment(s)
Have searched the internet high and low, and posted to a couple other forums, but have found nothing.
Are there any 7.00-17 or 7.50-17 mud grip, traction tread tires available?
All kinds of highway tread options.
Something similar this one

Thanks mr48chevy, I found those long ago, but they are not even remotely similar to the style i have pictured.
I want something that is similar tread to the traction style tires of the 40's and 50's.

mongocanfly, yep that is the style I am looking for, seems to be available in a lots of sizes just not 17".
The first picture in my original post is a Power King Super Traction II. available in 15" and 16" sizes only.

Boy, you picked a tough one. I looked around on the web myself, doesn’t look good for 17” sizes. Maxxis Bighorns and Mastercraft MXT’s are close, but I don’t think it’s what you’re looking for. Interco has a lot of old school looking mud tires, but are geared for 4x4 trucks. Again, I don’t think that’s what you’re looking for. Is there a reason you need 17” tires? Could you swap rims and go fora 16” in order to get the look?

That is one of the options i am looking at, but the tire diameter would be smaller, making an already low geared 1948 GMC 3/4 ton pickup to be slower. Would rather go larger size than smaller. Also would need to find wheels that would look at least close to original for that vintage GM pickup.
I guess 15" wheels were standard for the '48 3/4 tons, with the 17" wheels being an option.
Another option would be these tires https://www.cokertire.com/750-17-tor...on-10-ply.html but they are of a modern tread design, and definitely not what I want.

huh, when I bought the 47 gmc it was a grain truck and had 17" widowmakers and like new luggers, I popped them on craigslist and was a little whelmed (not overly whelmed haha) by how many guys called. I actually delivered them to oklahoma for 3 times what I thought they would sell for. now I see why!
