1967 p30
 

I just purchased a 1967 Chevrolet P30 StepVan. I would like to find out a little about it. The VIN is PS357F112300. I know it has a 6cyl. I am just not sure what size. I have looked online for information, however, it is limited. Does anyone have any input or advice as where to look???

Look at the passenger side of the motor. If the motor mount is between the fuel pump and distributor it's a 292. And if it isn't and behind the 2 it's a 230/250

What's your plans for it? Shop truck? RV to pull a trailer, to haul your pickup to shows?
My wife keeps on me about getting a shortie bus to turn into and RV, but the large step van would fill the bill nicely. :metal:

That thing is neat! I didn't realize '67s still had the earlier front end. I've been needing one like this. Damn food truck craze has their market messed up.

The P30 looks great, love the classic P-series vans. They are based on the C-series chassis components besides obvious changes like steering setup.

You cab still get the older P10's cheap if you keep your eyes open. We are building a '65 P10 & '63 P50 currently. The P10 will be an ice cream truck, while the P50 will be a mini-donut & cotton candy truck. www.thedonutdiner.ca is our website & has links to our FB & Instagram where we'll keep build albums.

What will you guys be using the P30 for?

We are going to use it as a carrier for out hot dog stand. We will paint it and fix it up in a way that doe not loose its character. It originally was built for a police department. We are not going to customize or cut up the beast. Just slap some cool paint on it and decorate the inside.

Going to live on as a hot dog truck. That's cool. Make sure you show us what you do. If not along the way, at least when it's done.

Yes, I do agree with the step van transformation to RV. I think that would be real cool.
I was originally settling for a Durango and enclosed trailer for the dog stand. This P30 came over the Craigslist airwaves, I had to scarf upon it. The nice thing about the hot dog business, the contents of the van will literally be unscathed. The day I picked the beast up, I got quite a few compliments on it and one person wanting to buy it. That made me pretty happy. I was a little skeptical at first. I know it, is by far, a better and cheaper purchase. No electronics, brains, modules, computers, and all the other unnecessary junk that new rigs have.
I will certainly show you the progress, along the way.
