1946 Superior Bus 1 ton frame swap??

Anyone have any suggestions for a frame swap for a 1946 chevrolet 1 ton? The front end is what I am interested in. I picked up a 1946 superior bus today and plan on doing a late model chassis. Any of these on this site that I can get some info from?

i got a 39 international w/ a wayne body ,i used a chevy p-30 chassis, was a flat frame truck with a van body on it . some people use a say 74 about any motor home, tool truck, food truck can be used ? just try to match up the wheel base lengths to match your school bus, also watch that the front suspension is not too wide ! mine was the correct wheelbase and suspension width, but looks like the motor will need to be moved rearward!,the 2 front body mounts lined up w/ "waynes factory mounts ,the rears will need to be fabricated !if you watch the local parts peddlers, neighborhood newspapers a complete truck will sometimes pop up cheap ?

Does the p30 have a straight front axle or a-arm? Also do you know how it is titled? The only numbers I can find on it are from Superior Coach Corporation.

So, you're not gonna keep it as a bus?
I have a 39 1.5T that I've kinda put on the back-burner. I thought about maybe one day putting it on a 4x4 frame. With big mud tires it seems to fill the wide big-truck fenders.

my p-30 frame donor was an independent front chassis, rear was a bigger hd unit / so i bought a late model {at the time a 2009? } 1 ton dually rear -14 bolt axle - bolted right in ,w/new u-bolts and had the rear spring eye un rolled and rolled the opposite way /actually lowered vehicle ! and removed some xtra leafs . the donor chassis was a box -tool truck that hauled alot of weight! the steering box looks like it will work? maybe roll it back a tiny amount or use a "borgeson" u-joint ! i have it stored away ,need to drag it out , i had peeled the roof off to remove critter debris and trash /between the inner & outer and paint ,seems like it had a million screws !its a unfinished project that i need to get finished ! i always need a vehicle that will haul a trailer somewhere, plus it has lots of lay-back and stretch area -plus its possible to sleep in the rear! thanks mike

Looks like he is gone too. I am jumping in with my off brand old project bus. A 1935 Dodge chassis with a Wayne Streamliner bus body. I was thinking of ordering a new Dodge 3500 2WD 167" WB dually cab/chassis with a 6.4 Hemi for the body to ride on. I got in my mind this will make an awesome reliable tow and travel rig with a classic bright yellow 30's bus body. Any concerns with fitting this new chassis underneath as I know I am going to have to widen the fenders a bit up front? I need some front sheet metal so I also was looking toward finding and utilizing a 36 to 38 Dodge 1.5 ton front clip for some more room under the hood for coolers and such.
More to come as this isn't a project for the faint hearted weekend dreamers and probably still take me several years to complete too...

Looks like a fun project for sure. You can start a build thread on this forum in the Alternate Tinkerings area.
