AC Drain ?
One of the guy's here at work has a 89 C2500 and asked me where the AC evaporator box drain is, He said he's looked all over for one but can't find it. I haven't a clue and not going to craw around under it looking.
Any of you folks know where they hid it ? Thanks |

I saved this pic of an underdash layout for HVAC. See if it helps.

Here you go. Is water getting in the cab? If so heres a TSB on how to fix it.
Owners of some 1988-1992 C/K vehicles may comment that water leaks from the A/C evaporator drain into the passenger compartment. This condition can be encountered during A/C operation especially on days with high humidity. Under normal operation, water gathers on the bottom of the evaporator case and drains out into the engine compartment. However, in some instances, air flowing through the engine compartment can blow the water back toward the opening in the cowl for the evaporator drain. This action may allow the water to seep down into the passenger compartment. In order to repair this condition, a drain tube (P/N 22542866) should be installed on the end of the evaporator drain. This will allow the water to drain down away from the evaporator drain opening. |
Re: AC Drain ?
Thanks for the schematic. I saw that the pic I had didn't show it but thought it might be of some good for someone who needed it, just in case it helped them see what doesn't necessarily show.
