How stiff should the fr. u-joint new ?

I got a new u-joint installed on my fr. yolk on the driveshaft on a turbo 350, 2 wheel drive . I took the driveshaft out and took it to a shop to get installed , It seems tight to me but it says is normal ,I don,t thinks so .Is greased but it seems to be tight . I can move it around with no binding but it feels like there is too much pressure on the cups. Any idea on what a new u-joint should feel like. I couldn,t find anything on u-tube. Should the u-joint flop around or have some stiffness.

What I do when I get done putting the clips in is smack the yolk with a hammer in a way that seats the cups out against the clips. That tiny bit usually does the trick.

Well was almost 0 Celsius this morning and wiggled the yoke and was super stiff ,not acceptable ,so did some strategic hammering on u joint and drive shaft here and there ,back and forth and got it nice but I had to file the c-clips a little .

Thanks

When I did mine, the u-joints came with different width c-clips. I didn't realize this until I was finished and checked for binding. I was able to get rid of some of the binding by tapping the weld on the driveshaft but still ended up changing either one or both c-clips, I can't remember, to get it where I was comfortable finishing the install.
