HI!
I really appreciate those guys nominating me for TOTM! Pretty cool....here is some info on my truck...she has already been in the pages of Trucks Magazine(6 pages to be exact) and she will be in Chevy Truck World magazine this coming month..not sure how many pages. LOL!
We bought her from a lady who lives around the corner from us. She was having a yard sale & advertised a restored Chevy Pick up...so we went & looked & saw the '70 under the carport, leaning...on flats & covered in about 10" of dust..LOL! We asked if that was the truck..she said yes...and she wanted $5k for her...at the time I was in the process of selling my 94 Suburban and couldn't buy the 70 unless it sold first....so weeks went by...and I finally sold the Burb..went back & the '70 was still sitting there, as if to be waiting for me! We made her an offer, and limped her home around the corner! We did an overhaul on her, oil, filter & all the goodies, plus she had a broken spindle from the abuse the lady's BF gave..the truck was obviously beat..the guy didnt care what he did...so we got her new tires..etc...and now she sits with as follows:
She is a 1970 C10 Custom, she has a 350/400 turbo,polished aluminum intake, Billet Valve Covers, HEI , Rams Horn exhaust manifolds with true dual exhuast,12 bolt posi rear, she has been treated to a full restoration, minus the cab being taken off the frame. Every other panel & bed has been removed for restoration!! Frame has also been restored. Everything on her is NOS, with some minor MODS. She has all new glass & seals,weatherstripping. Future MODS for her in the very near future are as follows: Remove tool box & install either a hardcover or soft tonneau. Flowmasters for sure. Gotta love the sound! New Wheels & Tires, so I can alternate the look from time to time. But I plan on keeping the Rallys..as everyone asks on the 67-72 forums..they beg me to keep em!

Hello

Thanks for the nomination. When I started looking for a 67-72 I wanted a clean base, a truck I could update and drive on extended camping and fishing trips. I found the truck in a hay barn, she had been sitting for about 10 years, I bought it on the spot. After about 5 weeks of intense work late into the night, I have what I was looking for, a solid truck that I use regularly for recreation and get nods of approval from old-timers and youngsters alike.

She is a 1970 GMC Camper Special. Original miles were 59,567, faded paint, minor dings, rotten rubber. She has a 350/350 combo with 4:10 Dana 60 rearend. I did all the body work and stripped it of everything for a trip to the paint shop. The paint guys shot the original colors and helped installing the new trim pieces.

I added MSD 6A ignition, billet distributor and coil, Edelbrock Q-jet, Alcoa 16" wheels, re upholstered seat, all new door and window rubber, carpet, rebuilt stock AC/heater system, Complete 2.5 exhaust w/Flow-masters, Disc brakes from a late model 3/4 ton, late model PS box and master cylinder, Delco 130 Amp Alternator w/dual Optima batteries.

The 4WD PopTop Camper that sits in the back was a surprise 20th wedding anniversary gift from my loving and very understanding wife. We have put about 6000 miles on the GMC on various trips, the longest was 2200 miles without so much as a hick-up from the the GMC. I love my truck, SO also.

As promised some info on my truck:

It’s a 1971 Chevrolet C/20 Longhorn, and me and my girlfriend are the proud owners since 1999.

We bought the truck from a shop in the Netherlands, and they imported it for us from California.

In 2000 we’ve put in a new 350 engine and it has a TH400 transmission.

A Victor jr. intake and a Holley 750 cfm completes it all.

Also it runs on Propane, which is a lot cheaper than regular gas.

(Price range is about $4,75 for a gallon of gas, while propane is about $2,00 a gallon)

Rear axle has 4.10 gears and a No-Spin differential.

In 2003 we did a (partly) body off restoration and painted it Indigo Blue Metallic. (The cab was not taken off the frame)

Seat is the rear seat from a 1991 Suburban, and we recently put in a homemade console.

Hello, Joesjunk here. I see I have been one of the nominated truck's for February. Here is some info on the truck,

1968 CST/30 1ton dually. This is an original CST 1ton dually. It came from the factory with a 327, 400 automatic, P/S, P/B, A/C, Tach, Side mouldings, and Bucket seats. I added a Vacuum gauge, speed warning indicator, tilt, cargo light, and cruise. A 400 small block engine was installed in 1971 at 31k miles, it is still in the truck. The truck has 52k original miles on it. The body was near perfect on this truck when I bought it. All of the interior is original, except the carpet and center seat. It was originally a white truck with a chassis mounted camper on it. I shortened the frame from 157" to 136." The truck was built here in my garage, including the paint.

WOW! Definately some tough choices to make. I tried to vote far them all, but I had to narrow it down to 1, so Edmond, you got my vote because you went way out of your way to find a really sweet truck to drive in your homeland. Hats off to everyone nominated, you all deserve a big trophy.

WestCoaster - It's good to see something fresh and different, it isn't too often you see one of these trucks actually used as a truck, muchless a camper. This is a great example of that!

Your GMC is a GEM IMO :cool:

Joesjunk's dually really stood out for me. I really like the fact that it has the "truck" look. I really like the toolbox too. Maybe it's just the construction worker in me but I would love to show up on a jobsite with that truck. :cool:

All the trucks are nice.I would like to build one like Joe's for my work truck.But I agree with dtlilly,I had to vote for edmund.That took some effort.

All great trucks with different themes. Got to vote for Lost Wages. He is where I want to be in a year. Same color, low stance and shaker hood.

Only problem is that's not a shaker hood, it's a cowl induction hood...

I loved 'em all, but I'm a big fan of the 67-68's, and I'm not a big fan of flatbeds, like joesjunk. For some reason, it just looks unfinished to me. Don't get me wrong, that's a beautiful truck, but I guess it's just not my style. I went for lost wages.
