G'day,

I am looking for an article on how to rebuild the STEERING COLUMN of a 1971-2 truck. I have a1967 GMC with a 350 Chev engine. I pulled the original four speed manual and have fitted a TH700R and have acquired a 1971-2 AUTOMATIC steering column. I have pulled it apart and cleaned/painted everything but think I am missing a few parts. Not lost, they weren't there to start with. I've looked at the OP's Workshop Manual and it covers the manual and power boxes, pumps, control valves, etc. but not the steering column itself.

Can any one help me please?

Download or thumb through a 1972 Chassis Service Manual ST 330-72.

Section 9 Steering, has column adjustments and repairs, it starts about actual page number 378.

Thanks, Tim, I have downloaded the SM and found what I was looking for around page 395. I just have to work out how to connect the Fibre Optic tube to the IP light next to the speedo.

Cool. Thanks for providing us with this 411. Especially for my '69. Gives me something to study. Ill be doing the restore on the GMC soon. Will also be buying a hard copy. I like book marking pages.

Maybe I'm missing how to download the complete parts manual from the GMPartsWiki.com site, but I only seem to be able to go through page by page. And at 1404 pages, that's no bueno. Logging in didn't seem to make any difference.

Any ideas? Or are they hosted anywhere else?

Ian scanned the pre 1973 parts books on his webpage. His are only available a page at a time on his site.

I don't know of any scans of the 67_72 parts books available for download.
