Your LY6 has LS3 manifolds...or it has them from the factory, anyway! |

lnwlfbsktbll - The ACDelco EP381 is indeed a good pump choice. For $68 you will have a quality pump that will provide 58 psi all day long. Here's a couple part numbers for you, and I attached a .PDF of some more part numbers that should be handy for your swap: Corvette fuel filter/regulator, WIX 33737, $34.00 ea rockauto.com Fuel fitler adapter, 5/16", Dorman 800120, $6.30 ea rockauto.com Fuel fitler adapter, 3/8", Dorman 800121, $6.30 ea rockauto.com 3/8" x 12" double end male, Dorman 800155, $8.00 ea rockauto.com |

Progress is slow right now, but I finally got the cab off with the help of a few friends. So here's how she sits waiting for me to strip the frame down.

Re: Project 6.0 (my '87)
Looks like I found a 6L90 locally for $1000 with a $300 core, me pulling. I might just have a tranny by next week.

Re: Project 6.0 (my '87)
Cant wait to see it going back together. Little at a time!

Re: Project 6.0 (my '87)
We're doing a similar build...although my LY6 will have a carb. and a 200-4r behind it. The 6L80e would be nice though!

Re: Project 6.0 (my '87)
Does anybody have some pictures or links to a picture of their motor mounts installed on their ls motor before it all went in?
|
Re: Project 6.0 (my '87)
You can check out my build under Project blue-ray, It will show a pic or two of what 68 short step has done with it . He took an original motor mount bracket and matched to a flat motor mount plate attached to my gen 4 motor 5.3 there. hope that helps out

Ok so progress has been really slow considering something like 2 weeks straight of 14 hr days and a vacation after that, but here goes. I managed to find time to get my 6L90E and LY6 together and bolted onto my frame. I decided to skip Stripping and painting the frame because I'm on a little bit of a time crunch with my painter friend that is no longer going to be a painter in the near future. So mounting the motor and getting things back together so I can paint took priority over sorting the wiring out and such. Here are some pictures.
The motor mount adapters I bought wound up allowing me to reuse the stock Th400 crossmember and in its original location. It took a while to get things straightened out, but part of that was because the O'Reilly's I bought motor mounts from gave me the wrong part. Correct parts installed and it all went together like it was supposed to be there. |
Re: Project 6.0 (my '87)
Very nice progress! The motor/tranny looks right at home in the frame.

Re: Project 6.0 (my '87)
thats going to be a sweet package when you get it all in.

Re: Project 6.0 (my '87)
Thanks for the comments. I hope it goes as smoothly as it has been so far. I haven't had any really large issues. Still can't decide between the OE style mirror or the little square repro ones like LMC carries here.
