This truck is in the town where in live. I looked at it last week. It is for sale for $11,500.00. I can get you more info if you like.

Here is my 1960 Burb with original 2-tone. It is currently being repainted to factory colors except the top will be white. The dark green in Arizona is just too rough.

I would very much like to see other photos that include front and rear views. I will be doing mine similar in red and white.

In the past some one posted a picture on this site of a 55-57 chevy step side with a silver over black paint job. If you know of this truck could you please post it.
Thank you

Saw this one on ebay today http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevr...5fTrucks#v4-37

Interesting two tone ...

Notice how across the back of the cab there is a white pinstripe, the doors are body color, but the a pillars are white and the cowl is body color.

Sounds goofy, but I think the look works, IMO.

bumping this thread back up...

I'm not sure if I want to keep it this way or if I want to do the traditional two tone. I kinda like this one...but I also do like the traditional one too....decisions decisions. And that's just 1 coat of white gloss tractor paint. It needs some touchups but it's not all that bad really. The window gaskets are getting replaced, and the rest of the truck will eventually be painted blue. I wasn't all that percise with my masking. Here's what it looked like in primer.

So what do you guys think? Keep it like it is or do the traditional thing?

....and lakeroadster...isn't that white pinstripe you're talking about in that last photo really just a chrome trim piece between the custom cab sail panels?

Any pics of the traditional 2-tone (roof, top of door, window post), but instead of white, using black?
This truck is the closest I found in this thread

Hmmm.... might be a chrome strip, similar to the way they did the '60's. In either case, I like it. To me a paint line needs a pinstripe beside it to finish it off unless the paint line terminates at a major body line.

That is why I like the non-stock two tone that breaks at the rear pillar and is not on the doors or the front post. Especially with the custom cab sail panels.

A few, but also on the hood too.

The entire "reason", if you will, for the white cab is to keep the in-cab temperatures cool, like a white roof on a school bus. Black kind of flies in the face of that. Probably why you don't see many like that.

Re: two tone paint picture thread

Thanks for the reply. I figured that's why probably at least all the original 2-tones had their roof white. I like the two tones you attached, but I left my Custom trim on. Guess I could 2-tone from there up.
Thought just the 2-tone with the roof, top of door, and the posts would look pretty cool....I mean pretty hot. Yea, I guess 'hot' especially down here in FL

This one is really starting to grow on me (especially the louvered hood!).

Two tone white with blue that is (post #91).

@jonzcustomshop
That's what I was looking for (thanks). Would like to see other 'black' 2-tones using the std 2-tone (roof, top door, posts)
