Dtc c0899, c0900, c0161

2009 Yukon 4wd.
It began with the cruise not setting every time. I replaced the brake light switch and it worked fine for a few weeks. Now it gives the messages, stabilitrac and traction control issues.
These first two codes are for low voltage and high voltage at some device. The third one is for ABS/TCS circuit fault.
Is this where I give up and take it to a dealer to solve?

Boog, any resolution? Everything I've seen indicates that the brake light switch is the magic bullet cure-all on these trucks. Any chance you got a bad replacement switch?

Before these codes showed up I had replaced the brake switch with a BWD one because the cruise started working only intermittently. It was more expensive than the AC but i thought it might be better so i went with it. Apparently it was faulty or it became so after a couple weeks.
The first two codes are old ones and once cleared have not returned. The 161 code is for the Abs/Tsc circuit fault giving "service traction control and stabilitrac "messages. Cleared the codes and installed an AC brake switch. So far so good.
Even new parts can be bad.
