AD Tire Size

Current I'm running a 255/35r20 on my 1950 AD but want to swap them out for some 15" wheels. Am leaning towards the 205/75r15. Truck has a MII and ford 8.8 rearend with air ride. Also guys who are running white walls what size white wall did you go with 2 3/8" or 3" white wall

I went with 15x7 205/70-15 (26-1/2" diameter) on the front and 15x8 225/70-15 (28" diameter) rear. The decision was dictated largely by practicality and economics: as soon as you go to the larger diameters and lower profiles the cost goes up exponentially.

The big whitewalls always look better, imo.

Curious: why do you want to go to the smaller wheel - going retro?

I tried a set of 6.70 bias plys for fun and liked the look. I am trying to go a little retro with it but now that you say it I may go with a 215/70r15 which is a little smaller than what I have now with 20's. My next issue is finding wheels with the right backspacing

I currently have two new Wheel Vintique 15x7 OE steelies I'd sell with 4-1/4" BS if that would help. 5 on 4-3/4 BC. They accept the original-style dog dish hub caps. I had them on a MII front end with the small brakes; not sure if they'd clear 11" brakes. LOL, this is marginally close to an unauthorized classified ad no doubt, but since it's just between you and me... ;-)

Definitely need to check on your caliper/disc size. I have 11" brakes and cannot fit 15 inch rims.

Currently I'm running 20" Dodge Steel wheels on a 255/35-r20 and aired out the running boards sit about an inch off the ground. I didn't want them to touch the ground in case an airbag pops I can still drive even if in straight line

I went with 205/75R15 on my '50 and thought I liked them. Then while doing some serious digging into tire size for my '47 I ended up finding some 215/75R16 and really wish I had gone that route on my '50. Much taller tire but still pretty narrow for a stock look. If you already have 15" rims I'd go with the 205/75, but if you're buying a new set I'd seriously consider some 16's.

215/75-15 with 2.25 whitewall about 27" tall. Sorry I know it's not an AD but I wanted to help with tire choices

The 215-75-15 fit the wheel wells pretty nicely most of the time.

I ran 14x7 inch wheels with 11 inch Camaro disk brakes so I don't see where he clearance issue would be unless a guy ran old drum brake wheels.
