school me on traction bars

Got an 87 R10 with a flip kit in the rear. What traction bars will fit? Looking at the Lakewood 21715's but they look like they are for the stock setup with the axle under the leafs.

Do I need bars from something like a Camaro that already has the axle above the leafs? Or does somebody make a set for this common setup?

Thanks

I cut up a cheaper set of universal slapper bars and welded them to the lower shock mounts on one of my trucks . They work great.

A friend gave me an old set from a camaro, that is probably what I will use. Cant be too hard to make them fit/work.

Yes they will. I would love to get some of those. Kinda pricey though.

What kind of power are you making ? caltracs tend to stiffen the street ride and they do make some noise.

We put them in a friends ride and that thing can hook in a car wash.

No idea what it puts to the wheels, but I was told the engine should make around 375 hp/tq. Feels like about 330-350ish to me. Its just a warmed over small block.

Got a M-20 4 speed behind it. Rear is a stock 10 bolt with 3.08 gears (for now).

It gets a bad case of wheel hop when I accelerate hard.

Re: school me on traction bars

A homemade set of slappers will stop your wheel hop issue and the factory shock should be stiff enough on extension for now . Caltracs would be optimal , but home built slappers will work . If it hops don't keep going hop = nbroken parts.
