Went for a nice fall colors tour this weekend. Probably the last big drive of the year before the Blazer gets put away for the long winter hibernation. Put almost 300 miles on this drive and used just under a half a tank of fuel. I sure love that 5.3 !!

Hey Dan, I think I read somewhere in another thread that you had said on this build that you didn't close up any of the original holes in the firewall. I believe you said even though you weren't using them that you wanted it to remain original. I am doing the same. My question is what did you do with the square hole that the original bulkhead of the wiring harness ran through? Did you use it or did you find a grommet of some kind? I wish to use the square hole but for a solid round cable of wires.

Amazing build! I hope my blazer looks close to this one day.

Just brought the Blazer out for the first time this year. I decided to tackle a rattle that has been bugging me since I finished the build, and finally got it solved. I put a small rubber block on the door window frame that contacts the A pillar. Man, this made a huge difference, because it now prevents the two from touching on rough roads. At least now there's some pressure on the door when closed. Best part is that it's almost impossible to see when the door is closed.

How did you attach it to the window frame? Sheet metal screw?

Thanks, great thread!

Yeah, I didn't want to put holes it it but figured it wouldn't move if it was screwed down.

I was bored today so I made a YouTube video of the build.

I just went thru your entire build, very nice job and cool video.
I noticed on page 1 that you made your own rocker reinforcement plates from the old rusty ones. I'm currently at that stage with my 70 Blazer and was wondering if you have a .dxf file for the profiles you would be willing to share?

Thanks

Mike

Took me a while, but I found the .DXF file.
PM me an e-mail address that I could send it to.

Finally got a day with no rain !! Went to the lake to see how high the water levels were because we are at record conditions. Looking forward to another trip to the Syracuse Nationals in a couple weeks. Hoping for better weather.
