Spark Plug Looms

I have spent a fair amount of time trying to find the factory spark plug dividers with no luck. I would just like to buy the plastic parts but would also buy the factory bracket. I have attached a picture of the drivers side rear bracket. You will notice that one of them is for three wires, this was replaced by someone in the past. This should be a two wire bracket. The other clip shown is missing the top closure. This is for a 1996 GMC K1500. The bracket mounts to the head below the valve cover. I would think that someone would make these plastic brackets. One of the currently available new GM crate engines uses the same bracket. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Re: Spark Plug Looms

That is what I thought as well, but if you look at the Dorman they change the angle of the plug holders by 90 degrees. These won't work, if you look at the picture they snap in and have the wire holders at a 90 degree angle. Look at the pictures of the Dorman and the attached image and unless I am missing something they won't work.

Re: Spark Plug Looms

You could bend the metal pieces 90 degrees to compensate.

Re: Spark Plug Looms

Thanks for the reply. If I can't find the correct part, I will bend the bracket. That was a good idea that I did not consider. I was sure I could find the part, but after several hours on the web it is looking like no one makes them. Getting them out of a junk yard is not really an option, because the plastic is old and brittle, which is why several of mine are already broken.

I did see some of the 90 degree ones on ebay, they were in packs of 5 or 10.

Re: Spark Plug Looms

Thanks Stockypoo, you found the right angle one. After all the searching I am surprised that I did not find this. I didn't think of looking at Corvette parts, I did not realize that they would work. How did you know they were used on Corvette engines?

Thanks

Re: Spark Plug Looms

you are welcome. I was in the same boat a month ago searching for the OEM style with no luck. Think i ended up doing an image search and the corvette parts kept coming up. took a chance on the purchase and they worked out.
