What is the last year for for single cab short bed

I was online today looking at new trucks and could not find a single shorty.

I have not paid any attention to late models so I am ignorant on the subject.

So what was the last year.

Thanks

It looks like they do still make it. They call it a standard bed.

Regular cab standard beds are still made, but it seems no dealers stock them. It's all extended cab, or crew cab 4x4 high-end on the lots around here.

I was spec'ing a brand new RCSB 2WD at the local GM dealer......when a low mileage PU came in on trade, in my favorite color, and loaded with all the options I told myself I couldn't afford......2011 GMC,RCSB 2WD LSE....saved $20,000..... so yes, they still make them, special order, 'cause most want extended cab 4X4's, 'round here anyways...... dealer REALLY tried to talk me out of 2 by short box  But if that's what you want, you can get it, nicely optioned, for not much more than a base Impala...... and really, is there any choice there? ;)

It seems like the only single cab/short boxes you ever see are Chevrolet's. I never seen a Ford or Dodge lately. I hope they don't stop making them. I got mine because that's the only one that could fit in my garage. (205") Larry:chevy:

Yes, hard to find. Especially one with a V8. Most swb trucks I see are V6. Everyone wants a 4 door car with a truck bed on it. You should be able to buy a swb reg cab w/ manual everything, vinyl floors, with a big fat V8 for about $10k. I don't need no stinking power windows and all that girl garbage to just tear up. Its a "TRUCK" for crying out loud! Why now do all trucks have to be 40Ft long, 4 door, every option known to man, and cost more than a house?

Yup agreed. I have Crank Windows with vinyl floor. 4x4 shifter on floor. I love it! V6 with tow package

Old thread but they are out there. I was looking for a single cab regular bed Sierra SLE 4x4 but the prices are pretty high with limited selection. Silverado Z71 versions seem to be more common.

I drive a silver Shorbed single cab Chevy thats owned by my employer, its a '14, but we also have a '17. I was given a seat in the '17 if I wanted it, I declined. That one is the 6cyl. the 14' I drive is the 5.3, and plenty of pep in a small package ;) We also have a Sierra in similar configuration, older body, a 2012

They are out there, and I have seen several of the "current generation" rams that are short bed single cabs, but dont ever see fords in that configuration....

According to Ford's website, they do sell short single cabs, i just dont see em.

I have been looking at SCSB trucks with the idea of dropping one. I already have one garage queen though so am trying to resist the urge lol.

Sadly, I think the regular cab trucks will be extinct soon within a few generations. Most fleet trucks I see around here are all extended cabs.

I doubt that they are going anywhere...
As long as they still sell cab-on-chassis trucks for towing or hauling that can't affort to waste the xtra length of the long extended cab, they will already have the single cabs in production. Then, with all the extended cab trucks there will always be a 6.5' box in production.
It costs very little to stamp a slightly shorter frame, and they already will be making all of the other components (maybe the F250 and F150 will go back to adopting the same cab structure)....

Also,
Ram and Ford discontinued their mid-size trucks (Dakota/Ranger) so the single short is their only option for small economy delivery truck options.

I love my '08 RCSB, it's like driving a go cart.

I just picked this one up yesterday. Took me some time to find the one I wanted. 4x4 V8. This one is a 2014 with 20800 miles. It's in great shape. Love it so far.

Old thread, I know...here is an update. I just bought a 2017, the dealer (Laura Buick GMC, Collinsville, IL) had a bunch in inventory before the end of the year. I bought the very last one. I have seen some 2018's but they're not easy to find. FYI I paid $19,900 for mine it's a base model with three options; 5.3, convenience group (power stuff) and towing package. My Father-in-law paid $24k for the same truck in 4wd plus carpet and upgraded radio. Those are unicorns though, most are either going to be base V6 no options or Sierra SLE/Silverado LT for $40k.
