After many months of trying to find a metal shop that could reproduce the original Front Carpet Trim Strip, I finally found a shop that could do it down to the last detail. This part is made exactly as the original was from 16 gauge steel, then smoothed to make it ready for chrome plating. This part has all of the original angles, dimpled holes, radius, and dimensions just like the original. I chose to make it out of steel and have it chrome plated rather than making it out of Stainless since the original strips were not made of Stainless. Stainless would be less costly to produce as it does not require chrome plating.

The parts have been made in a limited quantity (100) and are currently at the chrome shop being plated. Inventory is here! If you would like to order one, I am selling them for $110.00 shipped to the lower 48 states. They will be shipped FedX in a protective cardboard shipping tube.

Thanks. No rear ones in the near future. They are much more difficult to make. I believe they were roll formed.

Reply for Mike Cofield - I can only speak to the Carpet strips found in the Blazers that I own. I have a 70', 71', and a 72'. All three years have this carpet strip in the front. I have also seen some Blazers with the rear strip used in the front and the front strip used in the rear. Not sure why. It may have depended on interior options or the availability at the time of production.

So I finally had time to compare original with new strip. The best way to describe this strip is, if I didn’t know it was a repop I would swear it was an original. Look at pictures hard to show but all the screw holes line up with my original. The one picture shows new on top of old and it looks like one piece of metal it is so close and the radius on the ends look the same. I think this part is as close to original as you will be able to get without using the original die to make them. Thanks for a great part!!

All I can say is it's top notch. Looks identical to my beat up original but like new and bolt in ready. PM sent for a second if you have another. I want a spare.

EDIT---It seems to me that many trucks, especially the early ones, came with this style strip in the front and the rear.

Got mine a few weeks ago - installed it yesterday - fit great and looks perfect. No imperfections in the build or the chrome.
