Thinking about going with a stock type front bumper on the burrito. Any suggestions on good quality aftermarket or anyone in the area be willing to trade?

Re: Bumper Replacement

Everyone I know who has purchased an aftermarket bumper has experienced flaking off chrome and some have had outright rusting of the bumpers. New aftermarket bumpers appear to be made of thinner steel and cheaper chrome plating.

I found an old OEM one on craigslist that was $50 and it was close to good enough for me. The bumper had a slight tweak, and I sold the bumper guards on Ebay which paid for the bumper. I will just buy new bumper bolts when I get the truck painted and call it good. I cleaned off both sides of the bumper and applied paste wax and it looks OK to me.

I would look around for an old OEM bumper. There are still some rust free old OEM bumpers in the southwest, and if has not been hit I would favor it over an aftermarket Chinese one.

A local bumper shop wanted about $325 to straighten and rechrome my old bumper, but I did not want a perfect bumper that bad.

Yeah I really don't want to put a Chinese bumper on my truck. I'll look in the for sale ads. Thanks for the advice!

I have an Auto Metal Direct (AMD) bumper and couldn't be happier with it. The chrome on it is very nice.

Thanks for the feedback. I haven't looked at those. Might have found a decent one with all the brackets for $100

I got a Goodmark bumper from Summit back in '06. Chrome still looks good today. I remember at the time it seemed lighter then the original i was replacing.
