Rear mounted fuel tank and exhaust?

I have installed a 69' Camaro fuel tank in the rear with the filler at the rear license plate. I have a 454 that is going to go in it and will need to run dual 3" exhaust. I want rear exit behind the tires. I have welded (2) 4" sleeves in the factory crossmember to run the tubing through to keep it up tight.

It looks a bit tight around the tank and am curious how everyone has ran theirs that is running a rear mounted tank. I am about to plumb everything for the fuel injection and if there is a better option then now is the time to do it.

Much easier and safer to dump the ends out in front of rear axle....3" will be very tight plus heat could become an issue.

Even spec built tanks suffer from tightness issues with 3" pipes....

BTW...that 454 really only needs 2 1/2" pipes...unless it has power adders in place like a blower or turbo etc....

I assume you are not running stand alone single pipes per bank, as the little bit of back pressure and the cross over style pipe design really adds some drive ability to that 454...

Just my ten cents worth...
