Hydraglide rebuild

Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a shop or individual in the San Diego area that can rebuild my Hydraglide. Also, could anyone tell me if I need to use the original shift linkage setup or can I use a shift cable assembly with original shifter and steering column?

Thanks!

Well, I tried to search for a rebuilder and didn't have any luck. However, I did come up with a parts supplier.

My suggestion would be to contact this outfit and ask if they have any customers who are commercial rebuilders, rather than DIY-ers.

Btw, you didn't say what kind of vehicle you have, so I assumed you were asking about the cast-iron 4 speed automatic transmission used in Chevy and GMC trucks in the 50s and early 60s. The only Hydraglide I am aware of is a Harley.

Thank you for that link and info. I am a idiot and confused Hydraglide with Hydramatic. It is of course the latter. I have a 1958 Apache, 3100. It has the 283 but this drive train is not the original that came with it.
