Intake manifold - corvette?
The number on the intake manifold for my '71 Sub is "3973469 GM2". The only info I can find online is that it is for a 1971 350 with Rochester 4bbl (which is what my truck should have per spid)- but that info comes from a Corvette site.
I have heard of people swapping in corvette engines/parts on our trucks, but supposedly this is original to the truck. What am I missing? Did GM make different intake manifolds for 350s depending on which vehicle they were in, or were they all the same? I haven't been able to get access to the rear of the engine to fine the block numbers, yet. |
Re: Intake manifold - corvette?
Another site says this but again, no trucks/suburbans
3973469 71 350-270HP, Pass, Chevelle, Corvette, Camaro, Monte Carlo, Nova, CI, 4MW right engine though! and another states "application" B, F, or Y (all of which are passenger car body platforms, not trucks as far as I can tell....) 1971 3973469 350 4 iron Qjet B F Y/270hp |
Re: Intake manifold - corvette?
There is one for sale on Ebay right now with these same numbers, but they don't know what vehicle it comes from:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/71-chevy-old...-/291045612129 It does look very much the same as this manifold supposedly from a C10 though... http://www.ebay.com/itm/78-CHEVY-10-...e3857a&vxp=mtr |
Re: Intake manifold - corvette?
My "Chevrolet Small-Block V-8 ID Guide" isn't much more help. It just says it was used on the B, F and Y bodies. It seems that the 3973469 was probably used on just about any small-block that had a 4 bbl on it. In this book, there are so many applications left blank, that you have no idea what they were used for!
