Clifford Dual Outlet Headers on a 63

I apologize if this has been beat like a dead horse. I have exhausted my form search abilities and google skills.

I've got a question I just cant seem to find a comforting answer too. Will Clifford's Chevy 250/292 Dual Outlet Street Rod Headers fit on my 63 with an IL 292 and a SM420 four speed? I'm sure the 1 through three cylinder section will clear the motor mount but I'm concerned the second half will interfere with the clutch fork and linkage.

I spoke with Larry at Clifford's yesterday and in the course of the conversation he stated they would, but also mentioned if they didn't that all I would have to do is cut the collector and re-weld. ???

I've looked into Tom Lowes split manifolds but with the direction I'm going I would prefer a decent set of Headers.

Any help would be fantastic.

I have the split manifolds from 12bolt.comfor my 292. The pics I have can give you a pretty good idea what you may have. I personally think it will work. But these are a little pricey.

Lowslo64, thanks. I was looking hard at the cast. The Clifford's just seem to have a slightly different angle. I just talked with an exhaust guy who said pretty much the same thing, that it'll work.

Are the Street Rod headers the full length or shorty set? This was the Clifford set I ran a long time on another vehicle...I was also a little concerned about motor mount interference, so I did this mock up on my old L6 that I had on a stand in my shop before having them ceramic coated.

vin63, they are the shorties. It looks like you had enough clearance. Were you happy with the performance?

Back before they made em we used to modify our exhaust manifolds.
There was no internet back then so searching was only done via magazine adds.
Yep we actually lived through it. :)

Yes, I was very happy with them, but I live in a pretty warm climate. One of my buddies runs a manifold heater plate that taps into the engine coolant - it really helps with drivability especially in colder weather. Also, having the headers ceramic metallic coated makes a big difference.

Thanks, I was considering the ceramic coating as well.
