Rear axle locator
Has anyone used a wishbone style rear end locator with stock style trailing arms?

Re: Rear axle locator
You can't use a wishbone if you keep the axle solid mounted to the trailing arms like factory... unless you figure out the instant center of rotation and build the wishbone and mounts to share the same instant center.
You can, however, add a pivot to the axle mounts via some bushings or rod ends and use a wishbone, but at that point you'd be better off just replacing the factory trailing arms with some custom links. Either way, you'd effectively have a wishbone 3 link. The key is adding a pivot point to the lower arms so they don't bind. |

A wishbone works good in a drag car but they are not designed to take the cornering loads that we see in street driving.
