Help me please, with pictures.

I have never messed with blazers or Jimmy's. But I've got a problem with my c10 cab. Above the windshield, where the glass gasket goes, is rotten. I see that blazers have a patch for this can I see some pictures of the top of a blazer windshield please. Or a picture of the patch panel if someone has one laying around. I need to see how close it is to working. I have a welder and some of what I have is salvageable so I think I can make it work but want to see pictures before I buy. So thanks in advance.

Why not use one for a C10?

Sorry, can't help with that.

Is it the roof or the drip rail above the windshield? Someone may have a cab they can take cuts out of.

Good luck, Rg

Re: Help me please, with pictures.

Drip rail itself is fine, everything below it all the way to the pinch weld is rotten. I have a good piece from the railway to the top of the windshield gasket, but when I took the glass out in discovered that the pinch weld was bad too.

Based on what you are saying - you are going to need a donor cab.

Being in Indiana isn't going to provide you with a bunch of these sitting around in decent shape to get solid sheet metal from.

I see you already found this one - http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=734066

If you don't see one on here that is solid - you can start checking local on CL:

https://louisville.craigslist.org/cto/6052981534.html

^ - No connection to any of these - just did a quick search near Indy.

Depending on the condition of the rest of the cab - it may be worth it to check out a solid replacement cab to save you time/cost of fixing a few parts of your current cab.

Good luck in your search!

Well that's my problem lks dcvn, lol I have 4 cabs and thought this was one of my 2 good ones, and the wife isn't going to be happy with another cab lol so I was trying to get just what I needed if I could make it work. Thanks.

Post up a few pictures of the rust - we should be able to quickly tell you what options you have. Does water get into the passenger area when you run a hose over the truck?

Re: Help me please, with pictures.

Truck is a factory clearance light cab with broken lights and miss matched screws. Removed outer roof to see what was going on in side, and saw the holes, removed the windshield and under the gasket the pinch weld is pretty much no good.

I have a jimmy with the windshield out of it I could take pics of (and also a couple of windshield frames for blazers I have collected over the years)

If it's the piece I'm thinking about they should be the same for a truck and a blazer...

I'm getting ready to cut the upper part of my jimmy frame to replace it, if you think you can use it let me know.

Otherwise, you could call GMC pauls and see if they would sell you that part only instead of the whole 5-piece blazer set. I think this part is part of that set.

Pics of the jimmy windshieldframe, I think the parts are the same. If you want I can pull this one this weekend and get a better feel for it's condition. It may be a viable part for you.

The sides look a little rough, if you are pulling it anyway let me know what it looks like inside, and what you have to have out of it

raggedjim 04-06-2017 07:23 PM

Re: Help me please, with pictures.

I think most of the rough stuff is seam sealer.

I was gonna scrap it any way as I have a new top part to replace it with. So $10.00 plus shipping sounds fair to me. Let me work at getting it off this weekend and I'll get better pics of it off the truck before you buy something you can't use.

Go ahead and pm me your address so I can figure out what the shipping would be.

Murray ky is only 3 hours or so away from me, depending on shipping cost is might be better off driving down there. Zip code is 47138

Re: Help me please, with pictures.

Which ever works best, I don't think it would be too bad to ship but you know how that goes. I could cut it in half, the bad part of shipping would be the length. I'll get back to you once I have it out and work out the shipping.

some pitting inside but it seems pretty solid. I think it would clean up well. It's 55" long, it would probably be cheaper to ship if cut in half. Using the 55" x 4" x 4" it looks like priority shipping so $25 bucks sent Paypal should do it.

Let me know if you want it and I'm pm my Paypal email.

Re: Help me please, with pictures.

Payment sent, last week was crazy, car broke down, on my way to the parts store and a delivery truck backs into my wife's car, this was Thursday, Saturday had my daughter's birthday party and of course it was Easter weekend. My car is fixed, wife's is being fixed, got a rental and my daughter has enough toys and candy for 3 kids. Lol

Feller, I know how it gets sometimes. I'll get this in the mail today, hope it helps get that truck back on the road!
