Not enough vacum with this cam, I'd need to put in a vacum pump or reservoir. Will put in a oversized willwood master cylinder to run 4 wheel disc brakes. I could do a Hydro boost setup, but would have to have a pwr steering pump, dont want to run anything but the alernator.

My dad and i got the big block motor mounts, now we are just waiting for the 700r4 shift kit and torque converter and the transmission mount and we can put the big block in and have a little fun before we blow it apart this fall for body work

Here is some pics of the bed minus the original wood bed. Also there is the 700r4 transmission mount, big block motor mounts and the beast in the garage.

We had to modify the frame so the big block motor mounts would work. Also have engine mock up pics

Its been a while since i have updated...we took off the front clip and got a donor truck, which turned out to be very rare but not worth it because of bill of sale and condition but it has a lot of parts we needed. We are gonna start cutting out the parts from the other truck and then replace them etc.

From another Iowan, very cool! :metal: :metal: Funny after you linked up your sig, I read this post and you dropped a 454 block in your build. That's what I might have lined up for mine :metal:

Re: 1967 c10 lwb resto-mod

With our roller rockers we had to get extra tall valve covers so the only thing we had to modify besides the frame for the aftermarket motor mounts was the the heater box...and that was extremely minor btw nothing sounds better than a built big block :)

Rockcrusher deal fell through, the guy was told he had a M22...turned out to be a SM465, not a bad transmission, just not one to speed shift...will stick with 700R4 for now

We cut up the frame (it was rotten in quite a few spots), the section that we kept is going to be a cab dolly, the i beams will be bolted onto the frame and then we're gonna add some heavy duty casters to the bottom of the i beams, then all we have to do is bolt the cab back into the cab mounts. Then we are keeping the front suspension so we can build it up and once we get the frame sandblasted and painted we will put it on.

The pictures show my dad doing some welds on our new cab dolly made with some i beams my dad got from work and part of the chassis from our parts truck. The last pic is an "as she sits" picture and throughout the week we will be disassembling things from the cab so we can take the cab off and get to cracking on the chassis.
