Lower hose vs. alternator

Is it possible to find a lower hose that will fit radiator to water pump with the alternator in the mid-mount position?

I'd put the alternator where it belongs so it doesn't get splashed with water and crud in the winter. But that's just me

thanks for that, i'd say you were right:lol:. Not sure why they even sell these mid-mount brackets.

Do you happen to have a lower rad. hose part # for me?

Considering the alternator on all V-8 67-72 trucks was on the drivers side with a short water pump, it looks like you'll have to come up with a different solution than a stock hose.

You could bend a wire coat hangar, or other hunk of sturdy wire, in the shape and length you'll need and head to the parts store to see what you can compare it to for fitment.

Thanks for that. A starting point is just what I needed.

Is that some sort of extension coming off the water pump?

It's an adapter so I can have a temperature sensor for my fan control. I cut the hose DOWN to make the adapter fit. The hose fits perfect without the adapter I added.

Here is a link to a youtube video on wiring the fans. I used a BMW temperature sensor.

Here is a link to the BMW switch. I used a 81/88 Deg C switch and wiring harness that I found at a local Pick'n Pull

I looked and nobody seemed to have the hose in-stock locally so I immediately ordered that sucker on-line, very interested to get that crossed off the list, Thank-you again. It should work, your radiator looks very similar to mine.

I also used a dual fan controller but went with a dakota digital, probably cost me more than yours did. It did, however, come with excellent wiring diagrams and the two relays needed. Said I could use the temp sender if it was from Classic Instruments, which mine is. So we'll see.

Getting ever closer to start-up.......
