Progression of the 69'er

This is not so much a build thread as much as it's a progression thread because I can't take credit for a lot of the work done to it.
Back in 2010 I was in the market for a 67-72 GM pickup. I've always had 3/4 ton 2WD pickups. I was looking for something to bomb around in. I started by looking at a website that combined all the Craigslist together called Autotempest. I came upon this truck in the Sacramento area. |

These are pics taken from the baby book I got with the truck.
I'm pretty sure the restoration was done in 2004-2005 |

At the end of December, 2010, I flew from Hartford, CT to Sacramento, CA to check the truck out. I drove the truck about 50 miles, agreed on a price, paid cash, and flew back to Hartford that night.
These are pics from that trip. |

The first thing I did was ditch the Alcoa aluminum wheels for some steelies.

Next I put some lifting blocks in the back to give it some rake.

I found some nice hubcaps on Ebay that were really tarnished but dent free. A lot of elbow grease and some help from a signpainter friend of mine got them looking like new.
