I inherited my Dad's 69 C10 just a few months ago and hope to get as much done before he passes away and maybe we can get a ride together.
My family agreed to name the truck Carlton (the C10).

I have little renovation experience and never expected to have a project like this, so I'm on a budget and relying on the generosity of friends to help me learn. This forum has already been a huge help!

The short list of work so far:
A friend and I pulled the heads to replace gaskets and cracked exhaust manifold. Radiator was pretty beat up and may have explained the temp issues.
Along the way we learned it was a 400SBC out of a 75-76 (Impala?). It ran rough and was REAL loud when we got it! My wife wasn't happy. Now the glass packs crack real good! She's still not happy. ;)
Found a used seat and bought proper belts to replace the 80's plush bucket seats mounted on 4x4's. Also made some door panels.
Tranny fluid was low from a leaky speedo bullet. Replaced, topped off fluid and properly installed the B&M shifter mount. Runs like a champ! Oh, and I uncovered that Carlton used to be a manual transmission.

PO installed disc brakes up front but crimped the rear brake line and left no parts on the passenger side. So the rear end came apart and now there are fresh brakes on all four wheels and improved power from a booster.

My summer project is to start addressing the rust and water coming into the cab. Hoping to find someone who can teach me/help cut and tack in some patch panels.

Now for some before/after pics...

Nice project. It looks like you are making good progress on making her a reliable driver.

Welcome, and good work on the truck! Usually don't see an engine bay that clean for a truck in progress. You've done a nice job.
