Thanks for posting the Spid and these pictures.
Clearly it needs a little love but the finished result should look awesome and a lot like this one.

Although I do not have pictures of this Burb, I changed computers a few years ago and can't find the pics, I thought I'd post up the spid. I mentioned this one to you one time Tim. It was on Craigslist in Albuquerque in late 2010/2011 and wasn't in bad shape but of course I was haggling and when I finally came to my senses and decided to buy it the seller had sold it to someone in Florida. I do remember the front bumper was twisted away from the body on the passenger side. Looking at this Spid now it was a YG8 Package Burb in hugger orange with the orange plans seats.

What was the asking price?

YG8 and Hugger Orange is pretty damn cool.

I think he wanted 3500.00 to start but were down in the 23/26 range when we were dealing. The seller said it needed a trans pan gasket so I asked if he would take it to a trans shop and get it replaced at my expense and that way I was going to fly to Albuquerque ( 1500 miles from here ) and drive the Burb home. He was reluctant to do that which made me feel it needed a complete trans rebuild. The best price I could get for shipping was 2500.00 and I didnt want to pay that much. As I said a few weeks later I decided to take it anyway but it had sold to Florida. I didn't realize how nice/special a YG8 Hugger Orange Burb could be .

Makes sense, shipping is pretty pricey. Hopefully it went to someone that is loving it.

Here is one in Idaho. Looks nice, but I am on the lookout for one with 4wd.

Since the factory didn't offer Highlander Plaid in 4x4 Suburbans I suspect your hunt will be long and fruitless. Building one is really about your only option.

Yes that is a nice Sub offered, with some work and money it could look even beter and more original.

That certainly is a nice one for a reasonable price ($ $8500). I will post the photos for later visitors to enjoy.

Reluctantly selling our beloved Suburban. We are the second family to own the truck and we've had it for over ten years. It has about 2000 miles on a completely rebuilt motor done by a professional shop (I have all receipts). It starts, runs, stops perfectly. All lights, locks etc work. Has working front and rear A/C but will need charged. Truck is a daily driver and shows some character. Had a few spots developing in front of the rear tires and rear quarters. Pretty typical for this year. Interior looks great but not perfect. Original Scottish Tweed seats in fair condition. The front could use some attention.

We hate selling Tortuga. It has been a member of our family for along time and we've even wrote/recorded a song about her.

Original factory 402 big block. New tires, rebuilt carb, new battery, new starter. wood bed is perfect

****** I have just had an expert educate me that this truck is a very rare Highlander Edition only available in 1972***** The interior package and seats were only available in the upgrade package of 1972 and is quite rare.
Floorboards /door jams all excellent and solid. Pls call or text with questions.

Looks like every SPID posted on this tread were all built in Flint Michigan. Is that the only plant that produced Suburban's?

Interesting enough, every '72 Spid, in this thread and the Suburban/Panel spid thread, is a Flint truck.

I have 10/12 other Burbs with Spids on file and they are all Flint builds. I was thinking that maybe as the model years went by GM would have moved Burb assembly to the Flint plant but the two I've posted are 67 and 71 which I guess negates that theory.

You learn something new every day. Thanks for the information. I was wondering if the special promotional interior was only available at the Flint Michigan planet.

Well the two I posted aren't Highlanders so you could be correct in thinking all the Burb Highlanders came form Flint.

Found this YG8 Package one on eBay and it needs full rest. It'd be a beauty restored with all options ( except that 4:11 rear end ) installed. I contacted the seller and the A/C parts are missing front and rear as well as the third seat and the radio although the dash hasn't been cut.

Stumbled over this post so I thought I'd share.
