Any trucks with Z'd frames out there?
 

Picked this truck up about 2 months ago. Front has been Z'd 3 inches. Rear has a 4 link set up. Anyone else working on a truck that has been Z'd. Any tips or tricks I may need to know?

Apparently I'm not up to speed on front end terminology. What do you mean by Z'd? I lowered my 72 by 4" with springs and drop spindles.

The front section of the frame has been cut and raised up 3 inches. essentially the area between the front of the cab and the radiator support. This sets the suspension (and engine) higher up in the frame and lowers the truck. It was already done before I bought it. All of my previous trucks were lowered with drop spindles and springs as well.

Cool... Sounds like it should work pretty well as long as everything is straight and level. Guess the Z'd part is where the A Arms attach to the frame. As long as the Pittman arm hooks to the drag link properly, it sounds like a good way to drop the front end.

Mine is z'ed in the rear. For me, I am going static low and I can already get it where I wanted in the front with springs/spindles and eventually a pancaked crossmember. The rear, however, wouldn't get to where I wanted with springs/blocks, so I z'ed the frame 2.5". I wouldn't say there are really any tips/tricks to dealing with a z'ed frame truck as long as everything has been accounted for to line things back up. Although, I would make sure the welds and bracing are sufficient as the z can become a very weak point in the frame if not done properly.
