need 1993 chevrolet pickup c1500 wiring diagram
 

having electrical issues with wifes truck and need the
wiring diagram and electrical schematics

turn on the lights and all guages stop working along with dash lights,
emergency flasher lights come on also (not blinking) and now the
windows dont need the key on to put them up or down.
Also when lights are on low beam, the high beam blue lite comes on,
when on highbeam the blue lite is off
after afew minutes, usually, everything starts working right, but not always

If I were to guess, I would say its a grounding issue. There are diagrams in the haynes manual but with no scanner I cant get them to you. Maybe someone on here has them scanned.

If someone has access to Alldata, they may be able to help.

But, I wonder how many of the issues you cite may be routed through the turnsignal switch in the column?

i don't know but that sounds like a good place to start,i've got a friend whos a mechanic suppose to be here tommorrow,to check it out. i thought i'd ask the experts here first. thanks for the help and the place to start.

The instrument panel ground terminates at a screw right next to the ALDL connector.

well we found out that it's the dimmer switch thats bad so i'm picking one up at advance this after noon. had to order from warehouse across town they have two in stock,thanks for the info and help.

I hope thats the problem.

Not sure how the dimmer switch is tied into your windows or flashers though..

well i plugged the new dimmer switch in still does the same thing,so i'm returning it and using the old one. i got to drive the truck last nite didn't have any dash lites at all,then they came on by themselves.but i noticed that the oil pressure gauge was only showing 35 lbs at 55 mph. but with the lites turned off, just did this few minutes ago reved it up and the oil pressure gauge showed me that it was working showing 40-45lbs of pressure or better. the windows don't work now when the key is turned off either like they were.
don't know where to look or what to do this is crazy.does anybody have an idea on what to do? or look at?

oil presure is common and within range.

I have to ask, did you have any work done to this truck.... like an aftermarket alarm, radio, amp, or cb?

I'm thinking more along the lines of a bad ground still.

like may be the ground was cut and tapped into by something aftermarket or the dash was out for what ever reason and the ground (as stated by an other member) on the bottom of the dash is loose.

It could be another ground also that grounds the body to the bat.

there was an after market stereo in it but didn't work,yes theres a cb in it but i put that in it and it's directly wired to battery. all fuses are good checked that also. the ground form the body to the battery is good checked that also.

Grounding problem is probable, but have you tried the headlite relay. If it fails I have seen it backfeed through the circuits and cause other relays to work in reverse or patial. Those "ICECUBE" relays are pretty easy to replace. Can't hurt and it's an easy fix.....

yeah we replaced the headlight switch also, i guess i'll pick up those relays and try that.

I have 93 GM wiring schematics manual from a Chevy shop I worked at.
Specifically what do you need?

i could use the whole diagram from the headlight switch forward or from the fuse box.
basically everything under the dash.i''ll pm you with my e-mail so you can send it that way so i can print it out.thank you for the help and offering a diagram this will really help me out.
