84 stepside 1/2 ton. Complete suspension rebuild/replace. All Moog components. Cpp drop spindles 6454 springs 1 coil cut. Bilsteins on all four corners, flip kit in the rear. How much will the springs settle ? Is it ok to cut half a coil more ?

If they're seated correctly and the suspension has been cycled by driving at least a short distance, they shouldn't settle any more. Are you sure the winding is indexed in the lower arm correctly and seated around, not on the top hat? If yes, sure why not cut more. As long as there is enough spring rate to keep a decent ride and not bottom out go for it.

It does look a little tall. Trimming more off those springs wouldn't hurt given your drivetrain combo (sbc/auto correct?) vs their rate.
1st..... What is the measurement (@ the hub centerline) from the ground to the fender well lip w/full weight on the suspension?

If you would like to test some stock 1-ton/BBC coils already trimmed I have my old ones you could try.

R/H 30 1/2", L/H 30". So more trimming on the r/h side. The ride is smooth. Noticed a "pop" noise twice, hopefully just a spring settling into the pocket. I might just try those 1 ton springs. Out to the shop to trim and test drive again. I'll post back shortly.

Got it even but still looks high in the front. Drives great just needs alignment. Scoti, I will give those springs a try.

My dually was @ 27" ride height w/full weight on the suspension (3" spindles, 1-coil cut from the stock springs, & 1.5" notched x-member). Of course there's a little more weight given its a dually w/a all iron BBC.

Is there a reason why you used the 6454 instead of the 6452?

The 6454's increased the spring rate vs. a stock spec V8 spring (since his plan was to cut them shorter).
