Bearings

Took the #1 connecting rod bearing out today, trying to find correct size to order.
On bearings it reads, GM - (can't make it out, looks like 4 5) 18019665 5 H 4 2 Where do I go from here, I need this truck up and running before February what size bearings should I order to be safe, since these are from GM which tells me this engine hasn't been rebuilt before. As always thanks in advance. |

Re: Bearings
i might be wrong here but i was always under the impression spin a bearing = rework not just slap in a new one .
at least check and possible re-size the rod big end and maybe even new bolts and nuts . |
Re: Bearings
If it was mine and the crank wasn't nicked or scratched, I would buy a set of standard bearings and a set of .001 undersize bearings and some plastigauge and use whatever bearing fit the best.

Re: Bearings
Great bearing prices @ Competition Products.
If the old bearing had spun it's guaranteed that the big-end of the rod is out of round. |
Re: Bearings
Thanks for all replies!
Ok, so now my question is how bad does this bearing look, most of the rest have less scaring...I assumed they spun because of the ticking/tapping and some connecting rods are slightly loose. |
