Help with Build date
Working on a 72 Blazer K5 out of Flint. Trying to determine approx build date if anyone can assist: VIN F1851XX
Thanks, Paul |
Re: Help with Build date
Look to see if it has a blue sticker on the inside edge of drivers door. The date is usually stamped at the bottom of that sticker (if door is original to truck)

Re: Help with Build date
OK, update, seat belt tag 42 A 66, so the 42nd week of 1966. Don't know if this helps because I am not sure how close the build dates of seat belts run compared to build date of cars.... 3-months, 6-months, 1-month ?
Any help, Paul |
Re: Help with Build date
if they are 66 belts they are probably not original since they did not even start making blazers until 69. All of the Blazers I have parted had either late 71 or 72 date codes on everything I found.

The upper date next to manuf. shows 1967. Checked seat belt coding also, they are 67 belts.
Paul I know it's a Camaro sire but one of the best out there for decoding, scroll down to seat belt tags: http://www.camaros.org/seatbelt.shtml |
Re: Help with Build date
Do you still have the original front seats? If so pull one of the plastic covers off the back and check date stamped on the foam (if they are sport buckets, not sure about utility buckets)
