doh! yes i see the shock mounts now.
there is just a bolt in the mount, nothing special that i could see.
one of mine broke, one didn't, bought a new bolt at home depot.

no, i don't have a picture of the actual mount, but here's what i did:
the trans am sway bar hit my stock springs, i had to heat and bend each side in ~3/4''.
murrys auto parts had some short, 3'' or 4'' links on the shelf and i just fabbed a bracket on the frame.
the bracket is U shaped, cut out of some 1/4'' wall 1.5'' square tubing.
i used a similar bracket to mount bump stops above the c-notch on the side of the frame.

just kidding... hah. On a serious note, I like the spare tire carrier. It doesn't look good on all trucks but its a cool option to have the pieces to if you decide to use it

Would certainly be a one-off, but probably better left on the Mini.... :)

then again, well-done mods usually make you forget how they looked on the original vehicle and you probably could have pulled it off well...

I found that if you use the sponge brushes from HF to apply POR-15, it will flow pretty good.

I like your build!

I used the foam brush with sample kit from POR-15, and I might have put a little too much elbow grease on it. The foam was torn, and about to fall off before I finished the rear end, and springs.

Are the HF foam brushes better than the one in the POR-15 sample?

Almost bought some foam brushes while I was at HF.

Bought some 1", and 2" brushes 36 to a box. That should last awhile.

I bought some brushes before, but I can't find them until I buy some new ones.

Was just going to buy some gloves (on sale), and some brushes. You probably already know how that went.

I used cheep one time use brushes from the dollar store. they are like 3 or 6 per $1 pack. POR-15 is so nasty I did not even want to try and clean. I got a little on my arm and it took two weeks to wear off.

habor freight has the "chip brushes" for 1" $6.99 for a box 36, and 2" $9.99 for a box of 36.

There is no cleaning the brushes when you are done just toss them.

I wear nitrile gloves when using POR-15 and still manage to get some on me.

Thanks for the compliment.

As everyone says, just try not to lay it on heavy and the brushes will last awhile, also get a few because they will tear once the POR-15 starts drying on the brush. Those brushes are all the same, use them and throw them away.

One thing about that stuff try not to get it on your skin, it's hard to get off and takes some time before it goes away and use it in a well ventilated area or use a respirator.

Also, it's not good to use POR-15 on a smooth sanded surface, it will peel.

I always thought that was wierd.

The people at POR-15 told me if wire brushed all the rust off the frame I should let it rust again then use metal prep, and then paint with POR-15.

I guess it needs something to bond with.

Has anyone used their caliper paint?

I thinking of a step notch instead of a c-notch.

Started my step notch today. Almost finished one side.

Grind, check for fit, grind, check for fit ....................

I measured everything many times and I still had to grind, check for fit.

Taking my time, and making it right so I don't have to redo it.

More grinding and welding today. phase 1 of the driver side step notch is done.

Still need to box everything with 3/16" plate and finish welding once the unwanted part is cut out.

The notch is 4 1/2" give or take some of them little marks on the tape.;)

did you cut any off the rear of the frame or just the 9 1/4" behind the cab?
