Clutch linkage question

1 Attachment(s)
Trying to take off my clutch linkage. When I put it in, I did so as I was lowering the engine in, but now I need to take it off to remove the headers.

The bracket on the frame is riveted and it all fits so tight I can't get it out. Tried removing the bolt that goes into the block, but it made the frame side bind before coming out. Tried to pry it out on the frame side, but it won't come out.

Anyone here removed this before? Which side came out first? Did you have to jack up the engine?

Here is a pic, ignore the arrows, not related.

Thanx

The engine side is a threaded ball if you try to back it out it will bind the shaft.Disconnect the linkage by the cotter pin in the picture and loosen nut on the frame side, pull it out, the bracket has a slot.Pull off the pivot ball on engine side.

Thanks, but I wish it were that easy. Won't come like that, but if that is how it is supposed to come, than I guess I will have to jack up the engine.

thanx

Only way out is to remove nut, rotate bolt clockwise so the flat sides line up with the slot. Lift /Tilt up and slide it off the ball. Should be a special lock washer that keeps it in place. It has to come off with the nut.

Re: Clutch linkage question

I'm able to get the frame side up and over the bracket, but the bottom of the cylinder hits the bracket and I can't budge it up because I'm afraid I will damage it or the stud.

Re: Clutch linkage question

Loosen the motor mount, jack the motor up on that side and it will pop out.
