Amen to that! Even if you're short, the other person driving may need the leg room. Those are super nice for the limited space you had to deal with.

Re: 71 C10 6.0 LS ground up build
Thanks chucklee I'm happy with them shouldn't effect leg room either.

Re: 71 C10 6.0 LS ground up build
Having issues with the Tmi door panels like mentioned in previous post. The lock knob holes in door panel won't line up perfectly and knob gets stuck. Door lock motors won't pull knob down or up. I enlarged the hole in both panels and ordered billet knobs in hopes that there thinner than the plastic knobs.
|
Re: 71 C10 6.0 LS ground up build
I sent you a PM. The billet door lock pulls are generally larger in diameter than the plastic OEM ones. At least that was the case for the Ring Brother ones I ordered. The Ring Brothers door lock pulls would not even go in the original hole in the metal door skin.

Finally got my tmi seat and door panels installed. Had fitment issues with door panels and tmi stopped returning calls and emails. I used smaller biller lock knob and biller inside handels to get it all to work properly. Anyway hers a few pictures. Also got my radiator cover done. Painted it body color and pUT stainless mesh being it.

Re: 71 C10 6.0 LS ground up build
Looks fantastic! I will be installing A TMI interior as well, what exactly were your issues?
|
Re: 71 C10 6.0 LS ground up build
Main issue was where door panel fits around lock knob hole. Had to drill out hole in door so knob would align. Also grind hole in panel larger. Had to drill holes in panel around inside door handel and install trim screw to hold panel tight against door.

Decided to take off the vacuum booster and master cylinder and install a hydroboost system from Cpp. I flipped the hydroboost over so all fittings and hoses are on bottom side .

Re: 71 C10 6.0 LS ground up build
Looks clean.
Quick question, Im in the process of filling holes in my firewall, what are the two wires you have coming out above your main fuse block connection? I was going to fill all those smooth but Im kind of running in the dark with what holes I should fill and keep or re-purpose to another use. |
Re: 71 C10 6.0 LS ground up build
I used those for the drive by wire throttle pedal wires and also cruise control.

Been driving the truck here and there and working out small issues. Ended up putting some beltech sport shocks on it the kyb shocks were a little to bouncy. Put it up on the lift today and inspected everything. Got all the dust off underneath as well. Had alignment set this week also.
