4500/205 swap questions
I'm preparing to swap the stock 350/208 setup in my 85 K20 with a 4500/205 setup I have. The only non- OEM parts I'm using is a long 32 spline input shaft and the AA adapter that's 1 5/8 thick. Also, the AA bellhousing and ORD twin sticks.
My question is concerning driveshaft lengths. Has anybody done this setup? I'm assuming I'll have to get a new rear shaft because it will be too short? Since the 205 doesn't have a slip yoke, I assume the driveshaft will need to be replaced with one that has a slip joint built into the shaft itself? I might also mention I'm running D60/14ff axles, if that matters. |

You may find that the 4500/205 set-up is longer than the other. I used to have a chart with all the lengths on it be sure

Re: 4500/205 swap questions
Honestly id have custom driveshafts made for it if it was me.Any local big diesel shops will make custom driveshafts.I have had some one piece ones made for me 350 bucks each but rated to 600hp and everything is new and balanced.
