1969 Suburban

New to this whole forum thing but I really wanted to share some pics and posts about my new project..
It all started back in January when I was looking for a Suburban on Craigslist and spotted an ad with one picture of what seemed to be a great project. I inquired right away and received a few more pics in a few days. What I saw was good enough for me to commit to the truck and head out on a 4.5 hour road trip with my son and my Dad to put a down payment on it.
Because I live in Canada and the truck was in the U.S. there was some title work to do and learn how to be patient. It took 4 months but well worth the wait.
Feel free to offer advice or ideas.
I have restored both a '70 and '72 Jimmy many many years ago. Am I correct to assume that the center seat in the Sub is the same as the rear in the Jimmys'?
Check it out. :metal:

Welcome and nice find!! Looks to be a solid burb to restore and look forward to seeing your future progress. As far as your question on seat, I believe there are some differences with the second row seats. I do think the suburban third row and blazer rear are the same though. As you research through the forums here, you will find a lot of answers to your questions. I'm currently restoring a 71 K20 burb myself and can't wait to get it on the road and/or off on the trail. Lol

Looks unmolested with protecto plate too!

Before you came to the States you should have checked with dubds10. He likes to remind us Suburbans are cheap and plentiful in BC. :mm:

Really? Plentiful? Man oh man I have been combing the interweb for a quite a while. I got the suburban for a great price I think.
The plan is to just clean and polish it. Keep the original paint for as long as possible.

Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the welcome. Super excited to get mine on the road. No motor or trans yet although I did come across a rebuilt 4 bolt that is in the garage now.
Focusing on cleaning the interior and going through it for parts I can search for. The fun stuff.
A guy down the stree from me also has a K20 Sub with rear air. Not for sale unfortunately. I'm sure it will rot away in his yard of neglect. Soo sad.

Looks like a great sub.

"Am I correct to assume that the center seat in the Sub is the same as the rear in the Jimmys'?"
The seat is the same width, but the mounting brackets are very different.

Thanks a bunch.

Yes it seems to me that they are the same seats. Tough to find any in my area.
