How to wire a radio speaker
 

I'm trying to add a CD player in my truck. I have a single speaker with 4 wire tabs. ie; stereo? Hook up for 2 speakers? The CD player has wires for 4 speakers, 2 front, 2 rear. What to do with all these wires? 2 front to my speaker? Don't use the 2 rear? Can someone lend a hand? What do I know about electricity? It'll shock the s*** out of ya.

What kind of speaker? Most speakers will have a pair of terminals (one smaller and one larger) for the - and + to the speaker. A single speaker cannot be stereo unless it were to actually have 2 coils/drivers/etc, basically making it 2 speakers.

If it has 4 terminals it may be able to be bi-amped (uncommon in car audio, common in home audio), or possibly those terminals are an output signal to drive a tweeter on a "3-way" speaker. Pics or model number etc might help.

It has 4 terminals, 2 sets of 2. Each marked with pos & neg. One set on either side. It says left channel & right channel. As in one set is L speaker and one set is R speaker?

I haven't done this in years, and technology changes, but...

If you are only using 1 speaker, just take any of the 4 channels and run it to the speaker. All the speakers I have seen only have the 2 prongs for the wires. If yours has more, trial and error should not hurt as you have the fuse in. I would just tape up the wires you don't use.

There was a day when this would not be a problem for me either, however today's technology has passed me by. I have a speaker with 4 terminals and it appears I'm reduced to trial and error.

The 67-72s came with a single mono speaker in the dash. There is a common replacement that is a dual voice coil that fits in the location of the original speaker. I assume this is what you have. I would connect the front 2 channels to the speaker.
