lowering mine Tuesday and leaving stock wheels on ,would like to see what they look like

Mine has two leafs in the back and two coils chopped in the front. Not the best method but the previous owner took it upon himself to lower it this way.

The blue truck is a buddy of mine. I helped him build it a few years ago. It's a 1982 Silvarado with a 355/TH350 drivetrain.
It's a 4or5/6 drop 2.5 spindles/cut 1/2 coil and flip in rear
The wheels are repro car rallye wheels with corvette caps and trim rings.
15x8 front with 275/50/15 BFG Radial T/A
15x10 rear with 295/60/15 BFG Radial T/A
The color we got off of a mid 90's truck at the Ford dealer we work at.

that truck looks good!! any side views? can you tell the difference between the 50 seires and 60 series? does the tire look shorter in the back?

Thanks for all the compliments guys. I'll pass them on to my buddy. texasfunk, my truck had 60 series tires before I put the 275/50/15's all around. They just looked better to me. They ride better IMO because of less sidewall flex in curves but the still enough sidewall for a comfortable ride. I even put my Honda Rubicon in the bed and it still rides ok. On his truck we put 295/50/15's on the rear. They are alot wider and the sidewall is just a little taller. I'll try to get some pics of the side of his truck tomorrow.

Your truck looks good. How low is it? Tire size? Is it chopped?

Its about as low as I'd want it to get. I dont know the specifics, I bought it this way. I know it has a flip-kit in the rear with notches, and spindles in the front, everything made by belltech. Its actually a bit too low imo for everyday driving, in the front anyways. Tires are 275/60R15 in the rear and 225/70R15 in the front, just picked up all new rubber today, will be getting installed after I send the rims out for media blasting and powdercoating. And it is chopped, 5" I believe. I got rid of my last project and picked this up cheap for something to do over the winter...

any body have pictures of a 2 1/2 drop spindle and cut 1 1/2 -2 coils (2"??) in the front and a flip in the rear?........also very good looking truck's i will defiantly be keeping my truck rally's

I wouldn't cut any more than a coil off which equals 2" of drop after that you will have alignment issue and you lower control arms will scrub the ground

Heres a few. The chrome on the drivers door is crooked. He misaligned it somehow. But it's a driver not a show truck.

Yeah, I had one a while back. I didn't intend on all the compliments on this thread , but thanks. It's nice to see everyone likes the truck. We actually were building 3 at one time , but the other two fizzled out. They were bigger projects, including mine. Thanks again.
