Re: Wheel Hub replacement How To

For This I Used a Moog Hub Part Number 515058 Cost $245.00 at the Local Advance i bought the higher End hub as This is a land Scraping truck it is is used hard, they do have a cheaper house brand for $172.00 But as I runa shop cheaper is not always better!

Step 1 Lift and support Your Truck

Step 2 Remove the Lug Nut Covers and Lug Nuts And Remove the Wheel

Step 3 Remove the Brake Caliper and bracket I Did this as one piece The Nut Is a 21mm

http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/...-26-14_708.jpg

Step 10 Remove the Hub and Dust Shield, AT this Point i Like to Inspect the Hub mounting area And make sure it is clean. At this point i put a thin layer or Greece on the splines of the axle and the bore the hub goes into

Re: Wheel Hub replacement How To

Step 11 Install your New Hub and The Old Dust shield ON the truck And yes i Found out i put the dust shield on backward and Couldn;t get the rotor on so it all had to come back apart
http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/...-38-15_254.jpg

Step 12 Install Axle Nut and tighten to spec Socket is a 36mm
http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/...-38-26_456.jpg

Step 13 Reinstall Rotor And Dust cap I use a lug nut to hold the Rotor in Place, Don't Worry You Don;t need the Metal tabs that Where Hold the Rotors on To begin with as they where only there to hold the rotors on during assembly , the wheel will hold it on!
http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/...8-48-55_60.jpg

Step14 Reinstall your Brake Caliper Be Sure to Route your abs Wires the same As the old one and hook it up the new hub has A new clips to hold it on so dont worry about the clips on the old one
http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/...8-58-09_13.jpg

Step 15 Reinstall Your Wheel And Tighten the lug nuts to 140Ft/lbs oh Wait Remember to take off the lug nut you used to hold the rotor in place!
http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/...-01-01_852.jpg

Step 16 Install the Center Cap and Test Drive your Now Done.
