1958 Fleetside bed mounting

Would anyone happen to have some pictures of the mounting points for a 58 Fleetside? I am converting my stepside and when I went to mount the Fleetside the cross sills were not all touching the framerail. Are there supposed to be rubber mounting pads that get thicker or what? Are they all supposed to make solid contact with the frame? If anyone has some pictures please let me know. Thank you.

Thanks. So it looks like every rail sits firmly on the frame. I wonder if mine are placed wrong or if the stepside frame was slightly different from the fleetside. My truck was a stepside and I found a fleetside bed to install on it. Would it be possible for you to send me the measurements to the center of each rail coming from the tailgate or the cab end?

On mine all the cross sills rest on the frame, I did put 60 mil rubber roofing material between the sills and frame. I also made one more out of channel because there is a lot of space between two of them, which is where my original bed wood had failed. If you install an gas tank in the spare tire location getting to those sill bolts can be interesting... You might need to shim to get the accent lines in the door, cab and bed sides to align.

Sorry it took so long,it has been hot and I needed to get my firewood done.I too put rubber strips under bed rails, and made sure I drilled all the way thru the frame to bolt bed down, there is no way to put the wood in the bed after bed is mounted on frame,on my 54 it's same way,so lift up bed install wood and set it down
