Oil filter for synthetic oil?

Should I get a Moblie One oil filter ? Or can I use my normal oil filters HP3002 K&N, Wix 51061, Purolator PureOne PL34631? I will be using Moblie One synthetic.

All you have listed are top of the line filters so let price be your guide. CB

Advance had a special around here this week, buy 5qts mobil 1 and a mobil 1 filter for 29.99 (basically, they are giving you the filter for free...). Check your local advance, they might be offering the same deal.

I just thought there were better filters for the synthetic oils longer change intervals. Looking like that isn't the case. This is my first time switching over to synthetic also.

You can always change just the filter and add a quart if you want the added insurance and/or information.

I use Amsoil 10W-40 Heavy duty long change interval oil. I use their filters & change them every 6 months regardless of miles. I change the oil annually or every 25,000 miles which ever comes first. I like the stuff and have very high regard for its performance. I recently did a "re-gasket" job after 175,000 miles and the wear was minimal to non existant in all areas, so its doing a good job IMHO. Alway a joy to replace seals over metal! :)

I wasn't aware of any recommendations for a filter change when switching to syn oil.I am on my first Mobil One fill (break-in took 12,000 miles on dino oil for some reason) and kept using Fram.

Re: Oil filter for synthetic oil?

^Fram? thats the one filter not to use. As far as mobil 1 and K&N IIRC they are both made by the same company.

The same company also makes super tech filters for wally world, ***** Labs. Wix is a good filter IMO a K&N is a waste but i have friends that wont run any other type of oil filter.

Same company's make different brands but there is also variances in those filters. That's what needs to be looked at carefully. These are older but still shows the difference in filters.
