January junkyardin with pics!

I know there are some people that like to follow along on my junkyarding excursions, so here is the latest. Tue and weds were about 60 degrees warmer than today (-24 now) so I hit the road to check out a couple yards I haven't been to in years. Found some goodies and had to go back with the car trailer for a rusty jimmy body. Single wall top looks decent, so I had to save it. Enjoy the pics, and not a for sale thread...

Stopped at yet another yard on my way home only to find out the bank took it back in 2015 and of course everything was gone! Bummer...
More pics.

We got the drop overnight. Was very warm yesterday. It dropped about a degree a minute here. A nasty front.

Good stuff as always. Does it have more square body stuff this time and a lot lss 67-72?

I don't even like going to the junk yards in the summer anymore.

Yep. 67-72s are disappearing, And surprisingly a lot of 70s ford trucks this time.

Yep, some 67 stuff from a c-60 which was where 1 tach dash came from.

Couple more pics. The orange mid 60s and the yellow 57ish were both 1 ton long steppers I believe.

Still some pretty cool iron there, shame to see some of it rusting away. It's also tough to find yards that let you walk through anymore. It's that one up in your neighborhood, or closer to Iowa by chance?

Looks like some good slots?

Looks like a good truck with those slots. It's appears to be a 71/72 SWB Stepside with clearance lamps and either Custom Deluxe or Cheyenne (maybe even Super).

Those C30 bedsides would be work getting, even with rust or wrong year.

I spy a Studebaker pickup!

I would love to go there and bring that 69/70 Blazer home , I really want one bad .Went to look at one sort of local to me and it was too far gone for the asking price for me .

Wow...It looks like there is a lot of great stuff there.

Nice just to find a junkyard that will even let you in to poke around a bit let alone offer some great older stuff.....nice find!!

Very rusty. Hasn't had a top in it in forever. I think even the seats are rusted.

A lot of yards will still let you walk around without your tools.

Am I reading the pics correctly - you scored 4 tach clusters (incl 2 squares)?? Now that's just awesome. Especially the 73-76 cluster. I scrounged for months to build a square tach cluster (then sold the truck before I ever installed it :))

Re: January junkyardin with pics!

I wouldn't mind having the grill out of the orange 69 in the 2nd post. Assuming the inner grill is all there with no missing pieces or broken tabs. Even the outer looks pretty good for a driver (better than mine) I could use until I paint it and put on the NOS outer I have hanging on the garage wall.

All the best yards here have been cleared out for scrap metal. Sad but true.

The orange 69, gray 72 stepside and yellow 70 blazer were for sale complete only. The yards are definitely getting cleared out around here also. I have over 10 hours of driving in 2 days to see this stuff.

I would love to have that 3/4 '68 in your pictures.
Thanks for sharing your visit with us. Haven't been to a yard like that since I was living in western Maryland.
