Re: 1966 Chevelle Build

After giving it a lot of thought I sat down with the wife and told here “six bolts and about $800 more we can have the frame powder coated and under the body sprayed. So, success! I talked her into it. It was really bothering me, I would look at the car and kept saying to myself " six more bolts.....six more bolts.....only six more bolts" So on Saturday I'm heading down to the body shop and taking the body of and bring the chassis home, strip it down and off to the powder coater.

Here's a shot of us pulling the body off the frame. You can see in the picture we used a crane truck to pull the body off, all it cost me was a bottle of JD.

LOL don't do that I take to long to finish things.lol I like that fact that you decided to do a frame off. There is really no other way to go in my opinion when its a ride you expect to keep.

Re: 1966 Chevelle Build

Coming in extremely late on this. I remember you mentioning building a Chevelle but I haven't been on here much to catch it. Looks good so far. Sucks about the roof. Personally, I was hoping you went with the same orange as the truck but the blue is still very nice. Are you posting over on Chevelles too? I've got plans for my 65 once I get back from the "sand pit". Nothing major in the immediate future but a wheel and suspension upgrade. Anyways, looking forward to where this takes you. If you get a chance, search for a build thread by TommyComfort on either Pro-touring or Chevelles. His is one of my favorites.

We then rode Tim's Honda 100 out to Clovis to pick it, he drove the car back and I rode his bike. Bobbie was pissed, she grabbed the keys and told Tim your not driving this car until your sixteen.

It was a Honda CB 100. Tim had a Yamaha RD 250 a few years later.
