60-66 bucket seats

What are you guys using for bucket seats? I've thought about using 67-72 buckets but I'd like to see some pictures of what other people have in their trucks. Thanks in advance.

I have a set of low back buckets out of a 93 chevy truck. They are comfortable and are fatboy friendly, I tried a set of seats from a 02 chevy and they seemed cramped in the small cab.

magooster 08-23-2005 01:35 AM

Thanks cochran63, any pictures?

I've got 1999 Itrepid seats in my '69. The cabs are about the same dimensions. They are power, leather and super comfy. $200 shipped on eBay.

Thats a photoshopped version of my truck to represent "the goal". It actually looks like this, or at least it did the day I brought it home. It's in pieces right this moment

thats a dead link.

I had a set of Flexsteel 40/20/40 seats in my 63 for a while. They were a little to big for the cab with the in cab tank. I was a little cramped and I'm only 5'3" They bolted right in though, I ordered brackets for a 95 GM truck with them. I now have the stock bench back in it. I'm letting my dad "borrow" the flexsteel seat for his 95 chevy. Hopefully someday, I'll get them back.

My '66 has factory buckets. Very rare on a '66, these same seats can be found in '67 and '68 years as well.

magooster 08-25-2005 06:41 PM

I had no idea it was even an option in our trucks. Thats ideally what I'd like to get because they're lowback.

zenish 08-25-2005 09:17 PM

vortex, are you SURE those are stock?ive never seen a 60-66 with an upgraded interior.

Woogeroo 08-26-2005 06:41 AM

zenish, they have been reupholstered obviously. Here is a pic of my STOCK '67 GMC with factory original covering still on them. This truck still has the 351E big block V6 in it! :)

Does it list the buckets as an option? I didn't know it was an option for 60-66.

magooster 08-26-2005 03:16 PM

Man, I would kill to get my hands on a set of factory buckets, even the 67-72 ones. I'm especially partial to the '72 houndstooth upholstery

Jakes-66-K10 08-26-2005 05:36 PM

I don't have a build sheet for my '66 like the 67-72 trucks do. I always figured the seat was installed into mine by the previous owner from a 67 or 68, until I found someone that had a bone stock '66 GMC just like mine. It was ordered from the factory with the higher output 351E and buckets. My guess is they started doing this in late '66, but it is alot more common on 67 and 68 years.

Frizzle Fry 08-26-2005 06:32 PM

Wow! I wonder if they were a dealer install or factory option. Either way very cool!

65StreetCruiser 08-27-2005 09:25 AM

magooster, I have a post in this forum from back in March I think, It has a picture of a set of 69-70 buckets w/console in my 65 pickup. The thread is "65 with buckets" I think. They are not a bolt in, but are a pretty easy install. To me they look like they could have been a factory option they work so well. Kevin

Jakes-66-K10 08-29-2005 09:57 AM

BTW, you see sets like these for sale all the time on the '67-72 parts board:

reupholstered, those seats will be sharp.

I just picked up this truck, I bought because it had the seats installed by the PO by the factory. I guess I scored, there going into my truck.....
