Column is an early 70's Gm, most likely a Cadillac because the turn signal switch was wired for cornering lights.

The smoothed cowl panel is steel, I purchased it from Brothers.

Step mod will remain open underneath.

Not a lot to show for this week but I did manage to get the dash wired up, oil and water temp gauges installed and a few other odd jobs wrapped up...

This week I installed the water temp and oil pressure gauges, wired up the dash and installed a modern, high output heater. In the meantime I had the front fenders blasted and the front bed panel blasted and epoxied. Both fenders have the usual rust perforation in the bottom corners and a few minor dings, the bed panel came out perfect...

All except the Speedo, it's a Speedhut GPS speedo with custom artwork to match the SW gauges. The tach is from Mooneyes

Thanks, it's finally starting to come together. My goal is to have it ready by the MSRA Back to the 50's in June. There's 29 weeks to go, I think I can make it.

This weekend I managed to wrap up the cab wiring and run most of the other circuits for lights and the electric fan, etc... they won't get terminated until final assembly.

I hooked up the battery and tested everything, we are good to go...

Now I'm waiting on patch panels for the fenders so I can get back to doing bodywork. I think the worst is behind me...

Due to work and family obligations I haven't got a whole lot done this week. But, in keeping with my goal to get SOMETHING done, no matter how small so this build continues to make progress. This week I managed to convert the dome light to a single contact LED bulb and used a lens from another dome light to finish it off. I also got the tail light and fuel gauge wiring routed along the frame, put the division bar "mohair" in place to finish up the otherwise restored vent window assemblies, attached the kick panel speakers and wired up the GM electric window switch which will operate the passenger side door solenoid.

I have the patch fitted but it won't be welded on until I pick up some rust converter and weld through primer.

Haven't updated for a while, finishing up rust repair on my fenders and trying to massage out some dents that were previously mudded over.

Time will tell if the Permatex stuff is any good, generally their products work well so we'll see.

Today I got the firewall and front floor covered with FatMat floor liner. It is supposed to reduce heat and road noise in the cab. Sound is noticeably muffled when I rap the covered area with my knuckles
