1965 gmc crew cab
i finally purchased my next project. its an original 65 gmc crew cab. i'm wanting to purchase as much new sheetmetal as i can and definately want the best there is out there. can anyone point me in any direction as far as vendors. also i'm looking for any nos body parts. or very clean usable parts, no rust. i'll start tearing into this thing in a couple weeks so i'll keep the photos posted. thanks for the help.

I think GMC Paul's, Brother's, or LMC all have top quality replacements. I'm sure there is a few other suppliers out there as well. I've gotten fender patch panels and rocker panels from GMC Pauls, they fit pretty good. If you can find them, I'd use rust free originals for the fenders, but be prepared to spend $500 and up if you can find those.

Re: 1965 gmc crew cab
My dad has a 1964 Chevy CC, none of the "new" sheetmetal fit worth a damn, I hope you have better luck though, best to trial fit everything before you paint and ask the vendor if you can return if it doesnt fit. By not fitting I mean the holes didnt even come close to lining up, the inner fender support on one fender was attached at the wrong place and one didnt even have one. He ended up using stock fenders and did the repairs on them, he sent back like 6 fenders alone. Just trying to help not discourage.

the 66 is still sitting on the side of i75 i was telling you about earlier, from what i saw might be worth checking into. let me know if you want some info and i will try to get a number for you. also know where there is another 65 standard cab bbw short fleet (pretty rough but cheap) neither of these are mine but i can put you in touch with the owners.

Re: 1965 gmc crew cab
Um..... I posted this originally in 2005? and I DID NOT post this recently. I just seen this and know I know why I was getting emails from a couple members about parts. Sooooo I wonder how that happened? Maybe it's a sign to start my build thread I guess. Lol. Nice!!!

My Goodmark fenders honestly fit dang near perfectly...I had to open the bottom bolt hole up just a hair but they are sweet!

Re: 1965 gmc crew cab
How do they look at the front where it meets the grill panel where the 2 pieces are spot welded together?

Dieselwrencher, No I havn't yet. I will soon, just need to get more photos and a few more parts. Plus being out of town a lot lately I will not be able to keep things current . I dont want too start posting a thread and then have some long pause where all I can say is.... " not much going on right now ". I have a 205 from a 93 automatic truck. I'm told this will bolt right up?
