Project Roxy

So after selling the body and sheetmetal to my 69 blazer, I set out looking for a truck. I talked alot of member on the boards here about buying their trucks.. I had my heart set on Hartrod's crew cab. However, it just wasn't in my budget.

I finally settled on the below truck that was purchased from a board member out of the Boston area. The previous owner named the truck Roxanne and since I had a friend that died of cancer last year with the same name I decided to keep the name.

The truck looks really good in the pictures here. However, once I lifted the carpet, took out the gas tank, removed the front sheetmetal.. That was another story...

My goal is to get it laying on the ground using all Porterbuilt products (he's the man), put my 350/350 combo in it and rock the factory sheetmetal.

Oh and I really like the factory steelies with 73-87 hubcaps and trim rings. I have a set of 15x8 for the rear. I'm going to try to keep it 6-lug. A bonus is I have just about all the parts I need with the exception of tires, brake booster/master cylinder and brake lines. Also, I need to put a new floor in one of the cabs I have..

Re: Project Roxy

Thanks for the compliment, but I've only tacked things together in the past. I never ran any bead or weld something on a frame. I thought these were some of my better welds.

Great direction for this project and nice work so far!

Re: Project Roxy

The paint is the same formula that GM used for years. One step process, sprayable right out of the can. Great coverage. My only worry is durability.. We will see when I pull it down to put it together.

Sand blasting and painting the rails tomorrow.. Then I can start to assemble the frame. My wife let me order some PB control arms a few weeks ago, so those should be here soon.
