That's right...the frame tapers out to 39 inches just in front of the axle line, and then in again after the axle to 34 inches at the back of the frame. Do you also need the length of the frame? We'll need to know if you are working on a short wheel base or a long wheel base, and what reference points you would like us to take measurements from for you.

That would be awesome. I would like pic's and numbers where they show the overview of the frame top and side with plotting points and mesurments. If they show wheel base and cab mount locations as well. Thanks again

Ok bud....
I will try to scan them tomorrow. They show the overview of the frame top and side with points and mesurments. The diagrams list pretty much all measurements. Even the bolt holes. I think every guy on here needs this book. It has wiring diagrams, and engine firing order. Honestly. . . .

This book has measurements on the whole dang truck. Even installation instructions, and transmission I'd's. Its like a bible.

The overall lenght of a 1963 frame is (179.97)

The overall wheel base of a 1963 is (115.00)

I got that book about a month ago. The only problem with it is there are no index or directories to help find what your looking for. Heck, I don't even think the pages are numbered. I just got the 63 Chevy Truck Shop Repair Manual yesterday and I think it's more helpful and easier to use. You should check it out.

Re: Factory chassis dimensions for 63 p/u

I agree with you holmes. It would be nice if everything was all categorized by make and model, seperated by year, and labeled with pages. In color would be nice too.
Yeah, there are a lot of shop manuals out there.

that is why you are equipped (hopefully) with a memory. after going through it a few times you start to remember where things are. The positive side of this though is all the other that you didn't know of you discover . one can get sidetracked

Memory isn't gonna help much if the pages aren't numbered. It's still good to have ( as long as you remeber where you put it  ).

Re: Factory chassis dimensions for 63 p/u

I sometimes put the little sticky notes on the tops of the pages and write on them what's on the page. Kind of my own index.

I thought about doing something like that. I did color the outside edge of the pages different colors for each section/model year.
